About JL the Turtle

I am a 15 year Cancer Warrior and SurThriver of Stage IV Tonsil Cancer that struck my right tonsil and spread to the lymph nodes. My Mom and I were diagnosed with different types of cancer, just weeks apart from each other. We fought together. In 2011 I lost my Warrior Mom. She fought brilliantly to live each day with good times instilling wonderful memories with her family and friends.

I continue to be amazed every day that I’m still above ground. I am a wife, a mother, and a daughter and I love my job. I try to live EACH and EVERY day. I  spend little time wishing any day away for a better day down the road, whether it is good, great, excellent, bad or horrible. I live them all.
